"A journey through memory, myth, and the unknown."

Neil awakens aboard a dimly lit train, the rhythmic clatter of wheels on tracks echoing through the air. He has no memory of who he is, where he’s going, or how he ended up here. A calm, steady voice breaks the silence, introducing itself as Charon—the conductor of this strange vessel. Charon explains that the train is bound for the underworld, carrying Neil’s soul to its final destination.

Confused and disoriented, Neil begins to question the voice. Why a train? Isn’t Charon supposed to guide souls across a river in a boat, like the myths say? The voice responds cryptically: “The vessel reflects the soul it carries. For you, it’s this train.” Charon advises Neil to remain still and accept his fate, warning that searching for answers will only make leaving his past behind more difficult.

But Neil feels an inexplicable pull to uncover the truth. As he begins exploring the train’s shadowy carriages, fragments of his life start to surface—objects, whispers, and fleeting glimpses of memories long buried. Each clue reveals a little more about who Neil was, the choices he made, and the events that led him to this journey.

The deeper Neil ventures into the train, the more questions arise. Why does the train feel so familiar? Why does Charon’s explanation about the vessel seem inconsistent with the myths Neil remembers? And most importantly, is this truly the end of his story, or is there a way to change his fate?

The Underpass is a narrative-driven puzzle-adventure game that blends mythological themes with a deeply personal story. Through exploration, players will uncover Neil’s memories, solve intricate puzzles, and piece together the truth about his life and the train’s purpose. Each carriage holds new challenges and revelations, drawing Neil closer to the answers he seeks.

But the journey is not without its consequences. The more Neil remembers, the stronger his desire to return to the life he left behind—a life marked by mistakes, regrets, and fleeting moments of hope. Yet Charon’s warning lingers: there is no going back.

With its haunting atmosphere, rich storytelling, and thought-provoking themes, The Underpass invites players to explore the blurred line between life and death, memory and myth. Will Neil accept his fate and let go of the past, or will he uncover a way to rewrite his story? The choice is yours.
